Effect of MH - 30 and Ethrel on the Yield of Red Pepper of Several Varieties


Abstract
This experiment was carried out to suppress the red pepper blooming and to stop growth of the terminal bud in order to increase yield of red pepper, when treated with MH, 3,000 ppm and 3,700ppm on red pepper before 45 days from the first frost of season.
The results were as follows. After two weeks, the result treated with MH is that blooming was. suppressed, and the blooming of Ethrel treated plot was suppressed until one week.
In case of SAEMAUL KIM JANGGO CHU II, treated with MH 3,000 ppm number, fresh wt. and dry wt. of red pepper was the largest than that of all varieties. Compare with control, in the DAE JANG KAK treated with MH 3,000 ppm, the ratio of number, fresh wt. and dry wt. of red pepper was the highest than that of all varieties. In the JUNG GONG SAN treated with MH, the yield of red pepper was diminished than that of control. The plot of treatment with MH was the largest in number of red pepper with process of reddish ripeness, the other side, the number of red pepper with process of greenish unripeness was diminished than that of all control plot.
